Restaurant at eight
David Wick is head chef at “at eight” restaurant. His ambition is to present traditional Austrian dishes, in a new, modern way. His motto is back to the roots of Vienna. You can look forward to enjoying true Viennese cuisine on a very high level, with concentration on the essential, best quality products.
The young team is cordial, obliging yet also discreet. Casual yet luxurious, in keeping with the Hotel philosophy.
The interior design at Kärntner Ring 8 – hence the name “at eight” – is equally unique. Large windows mirrored on the inside send the trams on Vienna’s Ringstraße rolling in the opposite direction, or even into one another. During the day, the establishment enjoys a fresh, understated appearance. Only in the evening does it dress to impress: chair covers, drapes, tablecloths, adornments for the lamps and candles all come out to create an opulent, romantic and intimate mood in plush tones of red and violet.
From April to October, you can also enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner in the elegant Schanigarten (pavement café) outside the restaurant.
Another good reason to visit “at eight” is for its unparalleled wine expertise. Those interested are welcome to book a visit to the in-house wine cellar before or after dinner. Protected from light and moisture, and stored at the optimum temperature, we boast 770 bottles of the finest national and international wines.
